ARTIST STATEMENT

I have done art since childhood from coloring books to stone sculptures on the beach. Eclectic is my artwork, from watercolor and pastels to linoleum and mononprinting and authoring and illustrating two books. If someone asks what kind of art do I do; I answer what day is it because it varies so. In the past three years I have started my own designed cross-stitches which take hours and even months. I prefer to look at a single moment, a single item. While many paint a landscape I will do the single tree, or farm house. The garden becomes one lone flower. As a women I enjoy celebrating us; and, as a result several of my cross-stitches are joyous mermaids, goddesses, and females. Art is a time of solitude and a daring that I just go for.
